We were lucky enough to squeeze in a visit to Thorpe Park before the end of last season to ride Hyperia!

Chloe chose it as her birthday activity and we couldn’t have asked for better weather! The sun was shining for us all day.
Of course we headed straight to Hyperia when the park opened! Even though it wasn’t open the queue was already several hundred people deep and we all sat and watched them test it over and over with and without the water filled test dummies!
Our patience paid off and around half hour after the park opened they finally opened the gates for everyone to join the actual queue line.
They have put some effort into theming around Hyperia and it pays off with some slightly more interesting things to look at than the usual queue lines.
Although there appears to be some neglected areas of landscaping which I think have been done over the winter shut down this year with some nice grass and flowers going in.
A nice addition is the kiosk shop also has a queue line serving point (why aren’t there more of these?!) along with a free water refill point. When we joined the queue the wait time was already >200 so we settled in for the long wait!
Twice while we were in the queue the tannoy announced technical difficulties and the ride would be suspended for an indefinite time. Thankfully both times it was resolved within 10 minutes or so and we were glad we waited it out.
The theming continued into the launch station with the black and gold and it all looks fresh, how long for who knows.
I don’t want to spoil it for you but it. is. incredible. So much so, we queued again at the end of the day to get a 2nd go.
Our first ride we bagged the back seats and the 2nd go someone swapped our 2nd row for front row! What are the chances!
Both goes were so very different, the back is definitely worth the go but the front row is something else. I am not scared of heights by any means but WOW it was SO HIGH! And the first lift hill seems to go on forever, as you go over the hill for the first drop is just amazing.
Of course we couldn’t end a theme park day without a cup of chocolate strawberries and some merch. Chloe got herself one of the new Hyperia hoodies and she basically lives in it now.
