Where was it?

I attended a session run by Francesca Currie at The Artery Studios in Worceter at The Artery Studio. I have walked past these little units so many times and always wondered what goes on inside!

You’ll find facilities to make hot drinks and a toilet on site, there are a small number of easels to use also.

Address : Arches 28/29 Croft Walk Worcester WR1 3BD

I decided to walk and got some beautiful views over the River Severn on my way there and back

How much was it?

From the website:

Join us for our monthly Life Drawing session hosted by Fran Currie.
We’ve introduced new ‘pay what you can afford‘ pricing, please select your chosen date(s) and then select the price you are able to pay for your ticket.
Please bring your own materials (paper, sketchbooks etc), we have 10 easels with boards on a first come first served basis.

I absolutely love this approach you could select from £10, £12, £15, £20. I paid £20 because I think that is still an absolute bargain!

As this is the first time doing something like this I did have to go and buy some materials. Having no clue what to go for I settled on these beautiful rainbow pastels and normal pencils. In total I spent around £12.

How does it work?

I was quite anxious having never done anything like this before! But it is super relaxed and everyone was so welcoming.

Fran explained we would do a couple 1 minute poses, 2 minutes poses, a 5 minute pose have a break and then 2 longer poses.

Our model J decided to go for some Olympic style poses to celebrate the current ongoing Olympic games.

Above he is modelling archery and a winners pose haha he was so much fun!

The time flew by and it was soon time for our final pose!

Would you recommend life drawing?

Absolutely! It was so much fun and surprisingly not awkward at all.

I am definitely not an artist, just look at these incredible drawings from everyone! They were amazing. Everyone was so welcoming I would 100% go again and recommend giving it ago if its something you’ve ever fancied doing!

On to the next challenge!
