I’m always considering whether we should move our caravan to a new park, we’ve previously been owners at Devon Cliffs but we found the M5 traffic was just miserable especially when we were only going for a weekend and currently we have a holiday home at Burnham on Sea. So we thought we would try out Kiln Park near Tenby in South Wales to see what it was like

Where is Haven Kiln Park?
Located on the South Wales coast Haven Kiln Park is just a short drive away from the Tenby beaches.
Harbwr Lights Restaurant
We avoid our on site restaurant as the poor quality is pretty poor especially for the cost! But we were pleasantly surprised by Harbwr Lights at Kiln Park.
We didn’t have to wait long for our food and it was far better than our restaurant even with the similar menu.
Millie’s Cookies
Kiln Park, like Devon Cliffs also have a Millie’s Cookies kiosk, I wish we could have one, although I would spend a fortune as I love cookies.
Play Area
As you enter the park you’ll find this huge childrens play area just off to the side. Plenty of space to run around and all the equipment they could possibly need.
Outdoor Pool
Kiln Parks outdoor pool is small but it does have a multi lane slide into it. There is also a smaller pool to the far end. They have a few bench seats around the outside along with changing facilities.
Indoor Pool
We thought our indoor pool was small but Kiln Parks beats it. They do have a better slide than us and the addition of the outdoor splash pad though to make up for its size.
Lockers are available for a refundeable £1 / trolley token with shared changing facilities and showers.
Our Accommodation
We were quite impressed by the site, although smaller than ours it seemed to tick a lot of our ‘needs’ boxes. That was until we checked into our accommodation. Our sales team member had arranged for us to be upgraded to a silver caravan (even though we had booked a bronze as that was all that was showing as available)
We were really excited as our current caravan is a silver so expected something similar and on first glace it looked like we had got a lovely van. Very spacious and even 2 showers!
The sales guy left the kids some drinks bottles and the cleaner left a cute little note too.
And then on closer inspection, the cleaning was pretty poor, especially when they knew we were looking to move to this park and the cleaning on our current park in one of our biggest headaches!
The caravan looked like it possibly hadn’t been used for a while and there were cobwebs everywhere, the grill pan was very used, there was food debris over the bedside tables, one of the kitchen cupboards was broken and to top it off the bedroom TV was broken!
We also had sand all over the decking which was annoying as there isn’t even a broom to sweep it away ourselves.
Live Lounge / Sports Bar
Kiln Park are very lucky to have a Live Lounge and a Sports Bar which has this clever removable room divider.
So once the sports are done for the day, it opens up to create a larger live lounge space. It all looks like it was recently renovated too so looked really clean and fresh.
We played bingo and stayed for some of the entertainment which is pretty similar to Burnham on Sea.
Bike Hire
We were promised bike hire a couple of years ago but it didn’t seem to happen, so I’m glad to see it has gone ahead on other sites, there’s hope for us yet!
Create Studio
You can find out more about what is on, on my Haven Activities post – they do the same selection at Kiln Park.
Beach
The beach at Kiln Park is a bit of a walk, although it is ‘direct access’ from the park, it isn’t as close a Burnham’s mud, I mean beach area. But it is well worth the walk. Beautiful golden sands and clear blue waters.
Overall the park was nice enough, the beach is so much better than Burnhams along with the food. But we decided it was just a little too far for us, especially if we wanted to pop down for the weekend but we will definitely come back for another visit!
