Today we visited Clarks Shopping Village for the first time, considering we have been Owners at Burnham on sea for over 6 years we only recently found out it existed.
For those who also have never heard if it, it is located around 30 minutes away from Burnham in Street, Somerset.
One of the other owners mentioned it to us when we said we needed new school shoes, although it is called Clarks Shopping Village there is a lot more than just shoes!
Parking at the shopping village
We arrived around 10am and it wasn’t too busy, we parked in car park one – the parking isn’t free (unless you arrive after 6pm) You can pay at the machine or via the app – Up to 1 hour: £1 / Up to 5 hours: £3 / Over 5 hours: £5.
Disabled Parking
All of our car parks are long stay, meaning there are no time restrictions on free parking for blue badge holders – providing these are displayed correctly, clearly and are in date. Disabled guests are also able to park in any space if all disabled spaces are full. Find out more here
Thankfully there are no long walks from the car park as it goes straight into the shopping village (unlike some of the others we have visited!)
Clarks Shopping Village Stores
There are around 90 shops and eateries within Clarks Shopping Village. As it is primarily an outlet village you will find massive discounts in the majority of store – most of the products we bought were 50-70% off the original RRP, so great if you love a bargain. You can find a map here
Unfortunately as masks are still compulsory it limited the number of shops we went into because juggling 4 children, a buggy, bags and putting face masks on and off while having my glasses steam up is just no fun!
First we went off in search of Clarks (as this was our main reason for the visit!)
The store is located at the back near to the play area which was convenient for us! They are operating a one way system, have hand sanitiser at the door and the safe are sanitising the seating areas between customers. They are still offering their measuring / fit services too which was perfect as our girls hadn’t been measured for some time. The staff member who did it was really good with the girls who love to fidget and gave us their sizing.
2 new pairs of school shoes successfully purchased! Holly also found a pair of Minnie Mouse canvas shoes and wouldn’t take them off even though they were 1.5 sizes too big… I guess she will grow into them! There is currently an offer on for buy one pair and get a 2nd for £2 so we also picked up Oscar some more shoes.
After our first of 2 shoe purchases, we went over to the play area. Which is a massive pirate ship with various rope ladders, climbing frames and slides, next to swings where a parent can sit on it with the child (love these!) and also a bucket swing, which my lot love.
Clarks Shopping Village Food
Next we went off in search of food and not too far from the play area is the Restaurant Grange terrace featuring Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) , Frankie & Benny’s, Prezzo and Pret A Manger overlooking some gardens. We opted for Frankie & Benny’s as we already know the menu is great for the little ones!
We especially love the menu at Frankie and Benny’s as it includes a main, drink and dessert for a set price. We don’t tell the kids that though and they have to eat all their meal to get the pudding.
The menu also doubles up as an activity sheet, along with the double coloured pencils (they have 2 colours, so depending which way you hold it depends what colour it is!)
There is actually a quite difficult Sudoku grid on here so i’m not sure whether its also for the bigger kids, but it kept us all amused until the food was ready.
We didn’t have long to wait and we actually think its one of the best Frankie and Benny’s we have ever visited. The food was great, came out quickly and even my fussy burger was correct!
When we were finished we headed back down to the front to Sports Direct for more shoe shopping, trainers this time. Then a gift for a friends baby in Next clearance and a t-shirt for Chloe and a hoody for Holly in Gap (download the Gap+ app for 5% extra off!)
We were here for around 4 hours in total and if we could have browsed the shops we probably would have been here longer (and spent a lot more) We didn’t even get chance to sample the dessert van located outside Clarks so we will have to come back soon to try that. We had a great day and will be back!
