After quite some time away from running it was nice to get back to parkrun, although it was very unplanned and I was not dressed to run at all!

No sports bra, denim shorts and a pair of my retired running trainers created the outfit of choice today – I was an absolute sweaty mess by the end, but we didn’t let that small detail stop us.
But lets get onto the parkrun details…
North Yorkshire Water Park parkrun have a huge carpark, which several overflows available if the main one gets full.
I missed the first timers briefing because I was late arriving but I just caught the end of the RD announcement with the usual safety briefing and milestone achievements.
The course is fully marked up with KM markers, there weren’t many marshalls but the course is fairly straightforward so it would be quite difficult to get lost unless you went for a swim.
The course is a mix of gravel and forest paths, nice underfoot at the moment but I am sure it gets muddy in the winter months.
A lovely run and very convenient for anyone staying at Flamingo Land – it was approx 30 mins drive.
Side note: North Yorkshire Water Park have loads of activities you can book on to, they even have a sauna that overlooks the lake.
