While visiting Norfolk last year we decided to incorporate a visit to The Sea Life Centre Great Yarmouth. As we have Merlin passes this is included so it seemed a waste not to pay a visit as we don’t travel to this side of the country often.

Address : SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth, Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR30 3AH

Parking is available opposite the Sea Life center on the road and you can pay cash or via the app.

One thing to note is this is a cashless venue – they accept contactless / card payments only. You can purchase tickets online prior to your visit on the Sea Life website.

Each Sea Life centre has it’s own mission pack. The packs here contain a little magnifying glass, a nemo fish print lanyard and booklet.

You can also do the treasure trail and collect stamps on your way round. Once you’ve completed the trail you can collect a pop badge from the gift shop at the end.

The first thing you’ll find when you enter Sea Life Great Yarmouth are the Humboldt Penguins. These penguins are mostly found on the west coast of South America. They seemed quite happy hopping around in the enclosure.

You can read more about them on Wikipedia.

My vertigo does not love the Sea Life Centres sea tunnels. I can stand at the end to take a photo and then have to run through them without looking around! Not really sure why and it’s super anoying because they are super cool!

The kids love them and Holly was mega excited she had a shark and a giant sea turtle swim over he head while I was taking pictures.

Even Chloe wanted to stop and have a look in the tunnel, I stuck with a selfie from the entrance!

Holly loved Nemo’s cave as it looked like she was inside the tank with all the clown fish.

Every Sea Life we have been too have a Rock Pool Explorer area which gives little ones (and big ones!) the opportunity to touch some of the rock pool creatures. There are usually starfish, Sea Anemones and crabs.

The staff are always on hand and love telling you more about the creatures they have in the rock pool so be sure to ask any questions you have.

Also make sure to wash your hands once you have finished exploring the rock pool!

You will also find dwarf crocodiles at this Sea Life centre. is the world’s smallest crocodile only growing up to a length of 190cm.

Sea Life Great Yarmouth have a Pizza cafe on site at the end of the trail. With loads of different pizzas available along with hot or cold drinks and the kids favourites – Slushies!

They also have these cute cubicles in the toilets. Baby changing facilities aswell as a fully accessible changing spaces toilet are available.

The Sea Life Great Yarmouth is located right on Great Yarmouth beach so you don’t have far to go to find the sandy beach. There is direct access right alongside the Sea Life building.

You can ride the big wheel and take in the views across the beaches and sea or visit the inflatable arena a bit further down the beach.

If you didn’t fancy eating inside The Sea Life centre you will find The Cow Shed just a short stroll along the beach past the big wheel.

With plenty of outdoor seating and a range of breakfast and lunch food available.

I really wanted to go in the building that looked like the back end of a ship but it wasn’t open. Sad times.

Of course we couldn’t leave without paying a visit to the arcades. This one was just across from The Sea Life centre. The kids loved it and it was full of everything you would expect.

The kids love Sea Life centres and we are hoping to visit a few more next year with our Merlin passes.

Have you visited any of the others? We would love to know which one you think we should visit next

Tickets are available direct from The Sea Life website along with joint ticket offers and annual passes.
