I’m not sure how this trip slipped through the net and I never got round to writing about it! Around 18 months ago we visited The Cow Field in Brook before our visit to Paultons Park and had a wonderful stay.

Where is The Cow Field?
You’ll find the Cow Field in the New Forest area of Brook. It is just down a little lane to the left, watch out for free roaming goats and horses on the approach! We also saw free roaming chicken, pigs and cows on the way through the New Forest, which made for interesting drive down!
Glamping Accomodation
The Cow Field offers 2 different glamping accomdations. ‘The Bell Tent‘ and ‘The Horse Box‘. We stayed in the Bell Tent but you can find out more about The Horse Box accomodation over on AirBnB.
The Bell Tent
The Bell Tent is a beautiful 5 metre bell tent with carpeted flooring. There is a double bed and a double futon bed which was perfect for the 4 of us. There is electric in the bell tent so you can charge your phones, there is also a giant fan for those warm summer nights.
The bed is made up on arrival with extra bedding left for the futon. Towels are also included and extra blankets are in the box at the end of the bed.
Outside you have a small decking area with a table and chairs. Next to the tent is a small BBQ (utensils are in the kitchen shed) and a fire pit. We had so much fun building the fire and it sure does throw out some heat! You can buy wood, charcoal and firelighters from the wood shed and leave the money in the honesty box.
It was lovely waking up to these views and just laying in bed looking out over the field listening to the chickens, cows, sheep and horses in the distance. It is so peaceful.
Hollys favourite part was eating bacon sandwiches out on the deck in her Pjs in the morning. It’s perfectly positioned to get the full morning sun.
The chickens are fenced in but this one liked to have a wander. You could go in and grab any eggs they had laid but there weren’t any while we were there unfortunately.
We were also visited by this little frog, he was always there in the night if we needed to use the loo, scared the life out of me every single time.
The Cow Field Facilities
The Kitchen
The kitchen is well equipped with a kettle, toaster, oven, hob, fridge and bin. You’ll also find all the utensils, pots and cooking trays you could need in here.
The Cow Field Showers / Toilets
The toilet and shower block was exactly what you need. The roof is made of clear corregated plastic which let in the sun light which was nice. There were spare toilet rolls, hand soap and hand towels. The showers were pretty good and had loads of room to put your stuff and hang up your clothes along with plenty of room to get changed.
The washing up area was just to the side of the shower shed but I forgot to take a photo, whoops!
Green Dragon Pub
The Green Dragon pub is just a short stroll away from The Cow Field. They have a small play area and a wooden train. Free parking is available and they are dog friendly too.
They have a lovely outdoor dining area with some covered seating and plenty of open air tables too for sitting outside on those sunny summer nights.
The food was great and the childrens meals are massive and only £6.25. Gaz said his food was delicious although on the slightly pricier side (£15.95) it was well worth it.
You can follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
I would recommend taking some warm clothes to sleep in (unless you choose to visit in the middle of a heatwave!) as it did get a little cold at night. And possibly some slip on shoes for midnight loo trips, as messing about with laces when you are trying to not wake up too much was a faff! They do supply a couple of carry lamps but a torch would have been better.
We would definately stay again, Holly and Oscar thought it was a real adventure, especially with all the free roaming animals around. It’s not something they are used too being city children.
