Atlantica Dreams Rhodes Activities – Sports
Rounders with Nellie & Beth
Rounders is so much fun, takes me right back to summer holidays at home. Nellie and I made a great team although I kept knocking the ball into the long grass to the left.
Archery with Nellie (10yrs+)
While archery is on the park and football pitch is closed due to their proximity to the targets. You will play with proper bow and arrows to win a mix of games.
Family Football with the Tui team (7yr+)
This was great fun and everyone enjoyed taking part. I did notice they also have an adult football session available now for those who want to get a bit more serious!
Darts with Nellie (12yrs+)
We played killer darts (and continued my reign as killer darts champion) It was really windy though which made it difficult but we all got lots of steps in chasing after the darts when the wind carried them away!
Family Sports Day with the Tui team (All Ages)
This was so much fun! We were put into teams against a team of Tui reps and we battled it out through various sportsday style games.
Archery Knockout with Beth and Francesco (All ages)
I sat this one out but Gaz, Chloe and Lottie played. The aim is to hit the other teams players which knocks them out the game for 15 seconds and you then needed to knock their tokens out of their board.
Tennis with Roberto (All ages)
I thought I was pretty good at tennis. It appears I thought very very wrong. Or maybe I’m just not used to playing in this heat? Yeah let’s go for that excuse. Anyway It was great to practise some basic skills before putting them into practice with a game of doubles.
The tennis court is also bookable and you can borrow the equipment from the Tui office.
Body Zorbs with Francesco (10yrs+)
This one has a minimum height of 150cm/10 years. It was so popular they put an extra session on as Chloe and Lottie really wanted to do it.
They really enjoyed it (although they said its VERY warm inside the zorbs) and Gaz even went into have a go.
Atlantica Dreams Rhodes Activities – Fitness & Wellness
Running with Beth (16yr+)
We opted for an out and back 5km route along the coastal road. It is a quite road with a mix of tarmac and gravel surfaces. You get some really lovely views of the sea but there isn’t much shade.
Even when we went at 9am the temperature was already in the low 20s so definitely take some water and put suncream on before you go.
Aerobics with Beth (16yr+)
Downstairs by the spa they have an air conditioned fitness/dance studio. They do a range of classes in here.
Walking with Roberto (12yrs+)
Following a similar but shorter route to the run, the morning walk is around 2km along the coast and then back along the beach. Chloe and I were the only ones on this session so we stopped on the beach and Roberto was teaching Chloe how to skip stones on the water.
Gym Inductions with Roberto (16yrs+)
If you fancy a bit of gym time on your holiday, or like me, are just really overwhelmed with everything in the gym. You can have an induction with one of the instructors and Roberto was kind enough to write me up a pre marathon strength training plan too!
Sunset Yoga with Fransesco (16yrs+)
Again I thought I was pretty flexible, being as I did gymnastics when I was younger. This beautiful sunset yoga session showed me, I am in fact not. Either way this was really lovely (apart from the strong breeze we had that kept trying to steal our mats!)
Highly recommend it! I also did the candlelight meditation but I didn’t get any photos as we had to do it indoors due to the wind but again it was a really lovely experience.
Atlantica Dreams Rhodes Activities – Pool
Aqua Boards : Functional Fun / Yoga with Roberto (16yr+)
Workouts on Aqua Boards, what could go wrong? Well I ended up in the pool, Chloe ended up in the pool several times. It was fun but it was so hard!
Water Volleyball with Roberto (12yr+)
I sat this one out, Gaz played though and managed to get some good shots in. They do also do water polo if that is more your thing, it got VERY competitive and takes place in the shallower pool.
Stars by Night with Rachel (All Ages)
This was incredible. Rachel takes you through all the Greek mythology stories of how the stars got in the sky. Holly was fascinated by it and I really had to drag her back to the room when we were done.
Rachel did recommend the Astronomy Cafe too for those visiting.
Atlantica Dreams Rhodes Activities has one of the best activity schedules we have ever seen. We went off peak too so they said the peak is ever busier!
There really is something for everyone whether you are a young family wanting an active holiday or a couple looking to relax.
My top tip would be to go along to the activities even if you couldn’t book a space as so many people book on but don’t turn up! Which was disappointing for the staff to have half empty classes especially when people couldn’t book on as it was fully booked.
