Booking your Atlantica Dreams à la carte restaurants is a hot topic on the facebook groups! Bookings open at 10am for 2 days time. And they book out quick. I logged in at 10am on the dot and managed to grab the last table for each one pretty much.

For example on Mondays you can book Wednesday, Tuesday you can book Thursday, you get the idea.

We did however go down to Liberty restaurant and hang around from 6.30 and managed to get in early for our meal. (We were booked for 8.30) So it is well worth doing it as they have so many no shows which is very frustrating when it is so hard to get booked in!

Find out more about this hotel on Love Holidays and on my other posts about Rhodes for our review of the hotel, activities and room. We would love to hear if you have visited and what you thought about it also.

Our first chance to try an Atlantica Dreams à la carte was at Liberty which is advertised as having an American theme.

It is located in the Liberty swim up pool bar next to the family zone. You get beautiful views across the ruins and out to sea. We were booked in for 8pm but it looked empty at 6.40 so walked over and they let us in as only ONE table from those that had booked had actually turned up.

While we were waiting to order they brought over a bowl of tortilla chips and a cheese dip.

It’s really helpful that all the menus are available in advance on the Atlantica Hotel app so we could see exactly what I would eat along with the kids.

Starters

For starters I went for the BBQ Chicken Sandwiches (no cheese), Gaz and Chloe had the Rocket Steak Salad.

I think they may have been the biggest starters we have ever had, I wouldn’t have been disappointed if they had been the main courses.

We really enjoyed them, we had the kids meals brought out with ours. Holly and Oscar went for the Chicken burgers (Plain) and Lottie decided to have a Beefy Bopper burger (No cheese). Again the kids meals were a really good size and everyone cleared their plates so we will take that as a big thimbs up.

Mains

For mains Chloe had the BBQ Pork, Gaz had the Sunny Side Up and I had the Flank Steak. I always find steak abroad is thin and full of fatty bits but this was a proper cut of steak and was delicious. Gaz said his burger was really good and I did sneak a bit of Chloes BBQ Pork and it was also very nice.

Desserts

The kids all had desserts both the Red Velvet Cake and the Peanut Brownie. The Peanut Brownie wasn’t quite what we expected and none of them finished it, it was more a thin brownie base with marshmallow fluff coated in milk chocolate topped with peanuts and caramel drizzle.

Chloe loved the Red Velvet cake though which had berries throughout and a cream cheese frosting.

Gaia à la carte (Healthy Concept Gastronomy)

It was a bit of a toss up between eating here and the Italian, I am not a pasta or pizza person so we decided to try this one out.

As with the whole hotel the Gaia restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a lovely calm feel to it.

We were only one of three tables in for our booking slot, which was disappointing when all of the restaurants have been fully booked every night.

The views over the main pool and down to the beach were lovely as Gaia is located on the first floor above the main restaurant.

Again we were served a little something while we browsed the menu. A basket of brown bread rolls and an avocado dip.

Starters

We ordered 2 Vegetable soups and the Beef & Quinoa Stuffed Onions starters. Along with 3 childrens meals and asked for those to come out with the starters.

The soups came out first, then a bit later mine came out and then the childrens meals came out. It really wasn’t as smooth as the Liberty restaurant.

The Beef & Quinoa stuffed onions were a little bit of an odd combination. It was minced beef and topped with my favourite crunchy onion bits. It was ok, but I probably wouldn’t have it again. Chloe said the soup was ‘soupy’ so make of that what you will! Gaz said the soup was the best part of his meal.

Childrens Meals

The kids meals weren’t the best although they said they were nice there just didn’t seem to be much to them. The pitta was sort of like a mini pizza on a small pitta wrap. The Chicken was a chicken breast and 2 potatoes.

Mains

For the mains Gaz went with the Beef Bliss and Chloe and I both went for the Pork. Chloe didn’t like it at all but I thought the pork and parsnip puree was lovely. I’m not a fan of yoghurt based stuff so I gave that a miss. Gaz said the steak was nice.

Desserts

For Desserts we just ordered one of each the Chocolate Biscuits weren’t quite what I was expecting and were really dry. The fruit was lovely and actually the only plate that we finished.

Gaz opted for the greek yoghurt with honey and walnuts and Chloe the Mango chia dream. They both said they were lovely.

Overall we weren’t thrilled with the Gaia which is a shame it also took over 90 minutes for the whole experience which is a long time for Holly and Oscar. Especially as we couldn’t get a table until 8.30pm. This was probably our least favourite Atlantica Dreams à la carte.

We managed to book into Kuzina for our final night. It is located where the daytime Kuzina bar is by the main pool.

It has been very windy while we were here and with the openess of the location it was pretty windy here too!

Again we were brought out a little something to have while we browsed the menu. A tray of Bread rolls, Olives and a dip.

As the restaurant is surrounded by the pool it is quite a nice view with the water all around you.

This restaurant works slightly different to the others, as you get all the starts (and all the desserts) so you don’t have to choose.

Starters

This made me a little anxious as I hate wasting food and knew it wouldn’t get eaten. I don’t eat dairy or seafood which made up over half of the starters! But they still wanted to bring them all out anyway.

The plate to the left is “Tzoumagia’s” Grilled Sausage with a fiery Tirokafteri dip, bottom of the board are the Buttered Beans with pork belly. On the right is the Grilled Cheese which we thought would be more like cheese on toast but it was grilled Halloumi with a tangy tomato topping and a Greek salad in the bowl above.

The 2 most interesting ones were the Fish Croquettes and the Octopus. I was going to try the Fish Croquettes until they came out like this and when you cut them open they are bright green. The potato they were on was nice though.

I offered Holly (6) and Chloe (13) £10 each if they tried the Octopus and they both did! Both agreed they didn’t like it though.

Mains

For our mains we choose the Chicken Breast Fillet, Beef Cheeks and Lamb Shoulder.

The Chicken was ok slightly chewy. I wasn’t massively a fan of the beef cheeks but Gaz finished them off along with his lamb.

The kids all had Chicken nuggets and chips, no picture required I’m sure you know what they look like!

Desserts

Again with the desserts you get them all. Orange pie, Chocolate pie, a little shot of cherries and vanilla ice cream.

I think this Orange pie may have been my favourite dessert of the whole stay. It was delicious and it took all my will power not to eat both dishes of it!

It is like a sort of very moist sponge soaked in orange and it is SO GOOD! Especially with the vanilla ice cream to balance it out. The chocolate is like a mousse with a thin layer of chocolate sponge underneath.

What did we think of the Atlantica Dreams à la carte restaurants?

Personally the Liberty was my favourite and Gaz agreed. We felt the service was really slow in Gaia (although we think this was also part of the ‘experience’). But for us we just wanted to eat and get over to the entertainment.
