Although we have been owners at Haven Burnham on Sea for around 6 years now, We have never actually visited Brean Play Soft Play Centre even though it is only around 10 minutes down the road!
At the moment it does need to be booked online and Sessions are 2 hours Monday to Friday term time and 1 1/2 hrs at the weekend and during school holidays and start at 9.30am, 11.30am and 1.30pm (we def booked on a 3.30pm session but these seem to have disappeared!)
Brean Play Soft Play Centre has 2 different pricing tiers depending on whether you are just a general visitor or are staying on site at Unity Holiday park.
As our visit was in the Summer holidays the session prices were
For outside visitors
Child 0-12 months £2.00
Child under 95cm £6.85
Child 95cm and over £8.85
Adult (inc non playing child over 12 years)£2.00
And for Guests staying at Unity
Child 0 -12 months £1.00
Child under 95cm £3.50
Child 95cm and over £4.25
Adult – (inc non playing child 11+) £1.50
I would advise arriving early as you have to queue up outside and they don’t start letting people in until the session start time, we were the last in the queue and it lost us around 25 minutes of play time!
Inside you’ll find lockers available by the toilets on the right hand side
There is plenty of seating available, with more also available upstairs in the Ninja zone. There is also free Wifi, that’s a big fat tick for me as I could get on with work while they played. The whole area is also air conditioned / heated as required.
Food and Drink
Food can be ordered in the first 60 mins of the session and the counter closing for all purchases 15 mins before the end of the session. Brean Play do a range of hold and cold food and drinks at reasonable prices (including Starbucks Coffee) similar to other soft play centres we have visited. You can find more information here. You can even download the app and order to your table and I do love anything that means I don’t have to queue up!
For the smaller ones
Ocean World for babies & toddlers under 4 years
The downstairs play areas consist of a smaller area for the under 4s with lots of different activities, slides, swings and soft building blocks. There is also a sensory corner with bubble lamps and lights too. Holly loved the little carousel but decided she would hide every time I tried to take a photo! This has a locked gate on it which requires the button (which is so high my 5″2 self can only just reach it!) so there’s no danger of small ones letting themselves out.
For the bigger ones
For children up to the age of 11 (max height 148cm)
In the main play area there are several floors of climbing frames, rope bridges, slides and obstacles. It was suitable for Holly (almost 4) and Chloe (almost 11) Oscar did go in there (20 months) but he didn’t like all the noise from some of the machines.
Ninja Zone
Ninja zone for 7 – 11 year olds
Lastly upstairs is a Ninja Warrior style assault course, Chloe especially liked this bit and went round it several times. There is also additional seating and toilet facilities up there and you get a great view of all the other play areas if you are trying to watch multiple little ones at once!
They do also have a build-a-bear style section by the entrance but we tried to avoid this as with 4 of them it would be pretty expensive
You can also see into the Brean Splash pool, which means our children now also want to go here so well played Brean leisure park! We are hoping to head over there when we are next down at the end of August
Parking for Brean Play Soft Play Centre
Parking is available for £4 for the whole day – you can pay cash or via the RingGo app (available for free on Play Store and App Store) There is a 20p admin fee if you pay via the app.
It is the same parking for the whole area so you can also spend the time around your session grabbing some food, playing crazy golf, spending all your money in the arcades or even checking out the theme park just to get your moneys worth from it.
If you are local you can also book Birthday parties here : https://www.breanplay.com/birthday-parties with prices starting at £10.99 a child – you know how much I love these sort of party venues, no mess to clean up and no cooking! These also have a really good range of add on available so it would be a great venue for a party.
All of ours loved it and we’ve already been back once more and booked again to go later this week so it’s a winner for us.
I hope you have a great time if you choose to visit!
