Oscar Little Kickers

Oscar showed interest in kicking things about from the minute he could walk so we knew as soon as we were able too, we would like him to start some sort of football training. We searched around various clubs but settled on Little Kickers. Little Kickers start sessions from 18 months so at 18 months and 2 days Oscar had his first football training session!

Little Kickers run sessions all over the UK from children aged 18 months to 7 years – session dates and times depend on the location you choose but we had several different sessions to choose from locally.

The sessions are split by ages to Little Kicks 1.5 yrs to 2.5 yrs, Junior Kickers 2.5 yrs to 3.5 yrs, Mighty Kickers 3.5 yrs to 5 yrs, Mega Kickers for 5 yrs to 7 yrs Mega Kickers. All sessions are 45 minutes long.

You pay monthly in advance (For us it is £32.50 which over a year works out at £7.50 for a 45 minute session) and a £20 registration fee which includes your little ones kit consisting of Little Kickers T-shirt and Shorts (and oh my gosh don’t they just look so cute) There are several different kits available depending on their age bracket.

What do Little Kickers offer?

We have four different football classes each tailored to a different age group. However, we have two core beliefs that we take into every session.

Firstly, we believe in something we call “Play not Push”. It means teaching football in a fun, pressure-free environment. We want to give children a positive introduction to sport as a whole, not just football, so they’re more likely to stay healthy and active throughout their lives.

Secondly, we believe football can be educational. Coached in the right way it can stimulate imagination and aid early development skills such as learning colours and numbers, following instructions and playing as a team.

It’s an approach that has bagged us numerous awards and helped us expand globally over the last 16 years. And like all our Kickers, we never stop learning. We’re continually improving and updating our classes, based on feedback and input from child health specialists as well as our network of over 2,250 football coaches worldwide.

Oscars time at Little Kickers

Oscar has attended 4 classes now and we can already see his confidence is growing! We took him out of the day nursery we were using in May, as we are both at home in the day, and we were worried that he would be missing out not mixing with other little ones so these sessions are great for him to still get that time to play with children his age.

Sam and Duwayan run the sessions we chose. They take place in the community centre in Dines Green where there is ample parking and also a shop right by if you need to grab drinks (or snacks in Oscars case) for the session. Full address and contact details The Green Hub Gresham Road, Worcester, WR2 5QS Call 07932590502 Email lkworcester@littlekickers.co.uk

Both Sam and Duwayan and are so good with the children, patiently starting with a warm up at the start of each session, showing them how to dribble, take goal kicks with both feet and playing games to help with hand eye coordination. Working with toddlers can be exhausting but they make it look easy as!

We will of course keep you updated on Oscars progress (you never know we might be lucky enough to see him play for the Villa one day!)

Have a little one who might like to give it a try? You can find your nearest class here

They also offer Birthday Parties and you know how much I love someone else sorting out parties for me! You can find out more information here

Let me know if you join – We would love to know we inspired some new Little Kickers!
