We often visited the Rosewood Burnham on Sea prior to its fire in June 2019. It briefly reopened in 2020 after the refurbishment work and then covid forced it to close again. This is our first visit back since it was refurbished.
It is within walking distance of Havens Holiday Village (it does take around half hour but you can walk through the housing estate so the roads you walk along aren’t overly busy) there is parking available on site but it is limited.
The entrance is wheelchair accessible and the tables are well spaced even for double buggy access. The pub is still looking pretty fresh after its refurbishment in 2019 and has a lovely atmosphere.
There are booths on the right as you come through the entrance with TVs on the wall – great for amusing little ones while you wait!
Ordering is now allowed at the bar or you can download the Greene King app and order online. Table numbers can be found on the corner of each table on a little silver disc.
Kids Eat Free Offer
At the moment there is a ‘Kids eat free’ offer running (full details below) where a child can choose a breakfast up to £2.29 for free with each adult buying a breakfast over £2.99. This works out great for us as we have my 3rd eldest with us this week so we have 3 adult meals to buy and 3 childrens ones (Oscar just has a bit of everyones!)
This made breakfast for 7 of us under £30 including drinks – which is a bargain compared to the on site pub where we often pay £50+ even with our owners discount!
There is plenty of outside seating and also a small play park that we managed to get on inbetween heavy downpours (Where has all this rain come from in July!?)
Some of the outdoor seating is undercover thankfully so even if the crazy kids wants to play in the rain you don’t have too!
Our food did take a little while (45 minutes) it wasn’t overly busy and our friends visited yesterday and didn’t have such a wait so don’t think its the norm!
Gaz had the ‘Breakfast in bread’
BREAKFAST IN BREAD
An entire hollowed loaf loaded with 2 hash browns, 3 sausages, 3 rashers of back bacon, beans, mushrooms, fried free-range egg and melted cheese. It’s the breakfast in bread you’ve been waiting for. £7.29
Miles went for the Big Breakfast Burrito
12″ soft flour tortilla packed full of baked beans, tomato ketchup, grilled tomato, mushrooms, scrambled free-range egg, cheese, 2 rashers of smoked streaky bacon, 1 pork sausage and 2 hash browns £4.29
I had a Big plate all day breakfast I didn’t take a photo because I have half of it taken off so it doesn’t look very photogenic haha! But here are the kids breakfasts which were free! Lottie has scrambled egg on toast which was also free.
The food was great at The Rosewood Burnham on Sea (even with the wait) although all the toast comes out buttered which is annoying as I don’t like butter so ended up with no toast (I didn’t want to wait again so just didn’t have any but I’m sure they would have got me some if I asked)
Main toilets are upstairs but there is an accessible toilet with baby change facilities downstairs.
The staff are lovely and even though we had a bit of a wait for our food they did come and apologise to us for this and it wouldn’t stop us visiting again. You can find them on Facebook here or call them on 01278 554741 to make a booking.
