With the Artful Dodger closing we are on the hunt for a new breakfast place! The Smokehouse Kitchen Burnham On Sea has finally reopened for dine in customers so we thought this would be a good one to try.
The Smokehouse Kitchen is located at 12 High St, Burnham-on-Sea TA8 1PA and is open 7 days a week -They also deliver Wed – Sat locally which is great if you are staying on site at the Haven Holiday Village as they will deliver to the gate for you to collect.
Inside is pretty small with 5 tables seating around 15 in total (so we took up a lot of it!) Oscar didn’t want to pose to demo the baby seats available (never work with kids they say…!)

We ordered a mix of breakfasts – 2 large breakfasts for me and Gaz (mine of course with several changes to what is listed – but our server was more than happy to change out what I didn’t want for some extras of what I did which makes a nice change) a breakfast burrito for Miles, scrambled egg on toast for Lottie and Holly and Beans on toast for Chloe (not on the menu but again they were happy to accommodate) and a mountain of toast!
They do offer a vegetarian option along with breakfast baps.
Our breakfasts were delicious, well cooked and a decent size. The only thing to be aware of is, if you don’t want your toast buttered let them know as it did all come out ready buttered (yep that’s for me the fussy one again!) We always judge breakfasts by the sausages and these ones passed the test with flying colours. Miles said his breakfast burrito was a solid 8/10 which for a teenager is a pretty good score!
This is definitely a contender for our Artful Dodger replacement and we will be back 🙂
