A bit of a last minute visit to Flip Out today. When I saw the M5 traffic on google maps before we set off for Ikea was crazy, I quickly booked in a stop off in Oldbury.

Toddler Time : 4 hours in the under 5’s area, available 12-4pm term time weekdays.
ASD & Disability Session : 1 hour in the arena, Music is turned down and disco lights are turned off, term time only.
After Dark : 2 hours in the arena, a party atmosphere.
Sunday Funday : 2 hours in the arena, 6-8pm
Green Wednesday : Buy one get one free, 1 hour in the arena, term time only.
BOGOF : Get 2 hours for the price of one, term time only.
Family Saver : 2 hours in the arena, for groups of 4 (must include 1 adult) Includes Pizza to share and squash
Flip & Feast : 1 hour in the arena plus a meal and drink from the ninja menu, term time only.
Home Education Session : 1 hour in the arena between 12-2pm, term time only.
The zipline is also extra – £2 per go or 3 goes for £5.

Plenty of free parking available as it is in a warehouse on a bit of industrial estate (as most are)
We arrived at 12.30 ready for our 1pm session. The rules are displayed in the reception, the member on staff was quite abrupt. She told us we had arrived far too early and would just have to sit and wait until our session even though the website states:
What time should I arrive?
All guests must arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled start time to allow for check-in.
She gave use the socks (Which you also have to buy from them at £2 a pair) pointed us in the direction of where we could go and sit and off we went.
Safety Video
We realised there is an area to watch the safety briefing prior to your session. We weren’t told to watch this considering the recent injuries and legal action I would have thought this would have been made more obvious for us to watch.
If it hadn’t just restarted when we walked through it just looked like a promo video. Other trampoline parks we have visited have had a member of staff take you through to watch the safety briefing before allowing you in the arena.
Flip Out Arena
As I didn’t go into the arena, Lottie took these photos for me. They said it wasn’t very big and an hour was probably too long to be in there.
They do offer 2 hour sessions so I’m glad I didn’t book that! I guess you could break it up a little if you wanted to pay extra for the zipline or have food.
Flip Out Birthday Parties
Kid’s birthday parties are a nightmare at the best of times so anything that can make them abit more bearable is welcome!
Flip Out offer birthday party packages and have a seperate party room or can even cater for parties on the party bus.
Prices start from £17 per person and include entry and food which actually isn’t terrible. Even with the most expensive being £25 per person this includes, entry, food, dessert, slush and a party bag!
The party bus is also available for £3 per person minimum 10 guests.
For the parents there is a seating area next to the food tills and soft play. The soft play says it is for under 5s but there were so many bigger kids running riot in there and staff didn’t seen bothered. It isn’t that big and I wouldn’t have wanted Oscar to go in there on his own.
Flip out Food & Drink
Flip Out do the standard offerings of these soft play areas with a mix of hot and cold food.
2 bottles of water, quavers and a slush were £7.70. I did also have coffee and a muffin which is £4.
A quick visit to the toilet confirmed we wouldn’t be eating anything that was being prepared here.
If you don’t follow me on a regular basis my theory is, if a venue allows customer areas to look like this, imagine what the areas customers don’t see look like, such as kitchens!
Other Facilities
Lockers are available – I don’t think they are free but they are located by the toilets should you need them.
Arcade games / rides – These kept Oscar amused while the girls were bouncing. He also conned me into getting him not 1 but 2 dinosaurs from the grab machine. Thankfully it was a win every time one (£3 a go) so I didn’t have to spend a fortune trying to win.
After such a whirlwind of booking and going straight there, it wasn’t terrible. They could probably do with making more of an effort to ensure everyone watches the safety briefing. And it needs a good clean, but that seems to be a common theme with any sort of childrens play areas!
