If you are looking for the best Steakhouse in Worcester, look no further, this post is for you!
We discovered Ounce last year after asking in the Worcester Foodies group on Facebook for recommendations for a date night just before all the second lockdowns happened in the Summer and we were hooked from our first visit
Where can I find it?
Tucked away along the busy Tything in Barbourne just minutes away from the main Worcester High Street you’ll find Ounce nestled between several other independent shops. It’s quite easy to miss it, we have driven past many times and never spotted it.
There is parking directly outside along the main road but this is limited to 45 minutes so we would recommend parking in Pitchcroft, which is just a short walk away, or of course getting a taxi and enjoying some drinks 😉
Speaking of drinks…
there are a selection of beers on tap, alongside various spirits (Pink gin and lemonade was my choice today!) as well as an array of cocktails – the staff are even happy to make something off menu for you if they have the required elements 🍸🍹
What do you recommend?
For us, its all about the butcher cut. 14ozs is our sweet spot with sides of fries and Cauliflower Cheese (I’ll take my husbands work for it that it is THE BEST Cauliflower flower cheese in existence) The steak is just something else, always perfectly cooked, juicy and bursting with flavour. You couldn’t ask for anything more from them.
We’ve now visited over half a dozen times at varying times and days and never have we been disappointed with the food or service.
The staff are always polite and helpful, they never make you feel rushed or that your request is an inconvenience (and I can be quite fussy at times with food) every experience has been positive and we always look forward to returning.
And if there wasn’t already enough reasons to love them above, all day on a Tues and Wed they do £1 per ounce – making it even more appealing
They also offer a lighter lunch menu, alternative dishes including a Vegetarian option, Sunday roasts (next on our list to try!) And even a 39oz Tomahawk if you are up for a challenge
