One of our favourite things to do at Alton Towers (other than the rides obviously!) is to pay a visit to the Rollercoaster restaurant.

You will find it located at the back of the park next to Nemesis Reborn and Galactica, you can access it from the car park after park hours too which is much quicker.

Table Bookings

In the daytime they don’t operate a booking system so it’s first come first served meaning there is occasionally a wait for a table but it isn’t normally too long.

For the evenings you do need to book your table which can be done on Alton Towers website.

You will be taken to your table – each one named after a different rollercoaster. You will be given an ipad to place your order, but staff are on hand if you need them.

Each seat is numbered so when you order you can put the number in and when the food comes it will be flagged for that place number.

They have various different food options from nuggets, burgers and chips. You can see an example meny on the Alton Towers website.

Along with a range of desserts and extras such as Alton Towers birthday packages.

They have different options for adults and children. Adults get alcohol, children get teddy bears both come with a slice of rainbow birthday cake and the childrens one has a pop badge.

Each table has its own section you can grab your plates, cutlery and condiments from. If you are missing anything just wave done a staff member and they can grab it for you.

Watching the food being delivered to tables is pretty cool. The food comes out of the kitchen up the top and follows the rollercoaster track to the table. If you are lucky your food might even go round the loop!

You then twist the base round to pull the food round to your place setting. The sides such as beans come in little lidded pots so they survive the rollercoaster.

The food is pretty good for what is really just a sit down fast food restaurant and a pretty good size for a childrens portion. I only have a childrens meal and it is more than enough for me.

As it was Chloes Birthday we ordered her the Rollercoaster restaurant birthday package.

When you order this the lights all go down and it plays the Happy Birthday song which Chloe loved.

We went for the package with the Rollercoaster teddy, pop badge and cake slice. The cake was really good!

We think it’s a really good little experience to have. Although we don’t do it every time just because it does eat into alot of your Rollercoaster time, especially when it is busy.
