Cheeki Monkeys Baby and Childrens market

Phew! What a day! Today after 8 weeks of planning my first Cheeki Monkeys pre loved children’s market happened in Worcester 🙂

Who are Cheeki Monkeys Big Baby & Childrens Markets?

Cheeki Monkeys are pop-up baby and childrens preloved markets across the UK. The are run by independant organisers and work by charging stall fees for sellers to attend. Unlike a normal car boot sale these markets are aimed at local families to help them stock up on a huge range of items for their families at a fraction of high street prices.

Items which can be found at these events include children’s toys – trikes – safety gates – baby walkers – baby swings – bouncy chairs – cots – beds – linen – buggies – strollers – car seats – highchairs – baby monitors – outdoor toys – designer clothes – bumper sets – playpens – prams – children’s clothes – maternity wear – nappies – changing stations – toys – books – dvd and so much more!

It’s a great day out for the whole family as you’ll also find business stalls from local businesses offering things from homemade tasty treats to unique crafts.

Where are Cheeki Monkey Markets held?

These community events are held across the UK in many locations you can find a list of upcoming Cheeki Monkey Events on the website.

I chose the Lyppard Community Centre (now Lyppard Hub) as its a fantastic indoor venue the location and i know it is home to lots of family orientated groups and already has a good target audience to get involved. It also has ample parking right outside and is close to the M5

What will you find at Cheeki Monkeys Markets?

The majority of the stallholders with be local families selling preloved baby and childrens unwanted items.

At our market we had 13 pre loved and 4 businesses booked I was all ready to go, a pre loved and a business dropped out last night and the some again didn’t turn up! (Find this quite rude) But never mind – it allowed me to give extra space to those who really needed it!

We opened the doors slightly early as everyone was set up ready, we had a VERY busy first 40 minutes with it tailing off towards 3pm and very quiet for the last hour!

Luckily the feedback from stallholders was positive and a great day was had by all, hopefully we will also get some from the customers who left me their details 🙂

8 weeks till the next one and hopefully i can be less nervous and enjoy the day a bit more!!!

What do I need to do to sell at a market?

You will need to book in via the website and pay your fee. On the day you’ll be provided with a table but its a good idea to bring along a clothes rail if you have alot of clothing as it’s easier to display it all. There is usually limited space around your table so it might also be useful to bring a box to store smaller children’s toys at the front of the table on the floor.

I no longer arrange Cheeki monkeys children’s market days in Worcester but I have amended the links above to guide you to the main website and facebook pages so you can contact them directly with regard to upcoming events or should you want to join them to arrange them yourselves., or even just suggest a new market venue. They are always looking to find event organisers to help arrange market days in the local communities so why not get in touch if you can help?
