FabFitFun Summer 2022 Box

I’m so excited for the FabFitFun Summer box as this was my favourite season from all the boxes last year!

What is FabFitFun?

FabFitFun is a seasonal subscription box featuring beauty, fashion, fitness, and lifestyle products (full-size, no testers here!) with a Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter box each year. The boxes are themed with products to fit the ‘season’ although there is an overlap sometimes of previous boxes products available as add ons while stocks last.

Each box also comes with

An add on sale – where you can add on items without incurring any additional postage charges
Category Add ons – where you have the option to add on a 2nd choice to a category for a small charge (usually $7-15)
Refills – If you really LOVE a product you can add it to your seasonal refills and save money on just buying it in the add on sale.

How much does FabFitFun cost?

The cost of FabFitFun depends on whether you are an annual (pay up front for 4 boxes) or seasonal (pay box by box) subscriber.

I am an Annual subscriber and it costs me $240 / £191 per year ($199.99 + $40 UK Shipping for 4 boxes) this is a one off up front cost and you can’t cancel for a refund once you have paid.

If you don’t want to commit to a year you can become a seasonal subscriber for $54.99 / £44 per box ($64.99 with shipping / Approx £52)

One of the main advantages of being an annual subscriber is you have first access to all the options. It’s quite common for some options to be sold out and swapped for something else by the time the seasonal customisation window opens. You also only get to choose 4 of your options instead of all 6, although I do like surprises I have also really liked being able to really customise my box to what I like.

How does FabFitFun work?

Once you have chosen your subscription, you’ll see a countdown to when customisation opens for your next box. Around 24 hours before this the add on sale will open up to shop.

My biggest tip for this is set an alarm for when this will open and add EVERYTHING you like to your basket as you scroll. You can then go back and remove stuff because by the time you get to the end and scroll back up, chances are the most popular things will be sold out.

I would suggest the same for your customisation, if you can’t choose between 2 options, add them both and make your mind up later. You usually have around 4 days to make changes and add / remove items so don’t worry about needing to build the perfect box first time.

Just make sure you DO log in and double check before customisation closes as you will then be billed for everything in your basket. Again I set an alarm for a few hours before the closing time to remind me to log in. This also gives you a chance to grab anything that you may have missed out on that was showing out of stock but someone else has now dropped from their basket.

What is in my FabFitFun Summer box?

Category 1 – IGK Legendary Dream Hair Shampoo & Conditioner Bundle – Retail Value $62.00 / £50

I struggled to make a choice for this one, but as I was trying to keep to a standard box I was being strict on myself not to buy add ons!

What I really wanted was the brush (which came with an additonal $10 cost) however this wasn’t available to UK subscribers (booo!)

But then I also really liked the bag, but I have so many bags and this one doesn’t have a zip, I’m not keen on open bags really so decided not to go for that. The crop top looked pretty but I didn’t think I would really wear it. I’m not really a going braless fan so I ended up going for the Shampoo and Conditioner.

I haven’t tried it out yet but I have read good things about it and as it has a £50 RRP (yes , £50!!!!) I am expecting it to be pretty amazing.

Category 2 – Z Gallerie Multi-Use Storage Duo – Retail Value $45.00 / £36

Again I was torn with this category as I liked BOTH the storage jar options and there had been lots of positive reviews for the OUAI scrub! I ruled out the Lilly Pulitzer as it’s microfibre and I’m just not keen on the feel of it.

The green neoprene bag, well the colour just isn’t my thing (although they did also have a pink version in the add on sale) What I really wanted was the First Aid Beauty Ingrown Hair Pads & KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub (2A) but again this wasn’t available to UK subscribers.

In the end I went for the black storage jars as they would hide the contents.

Category 3 – Rae Dunn Guac/Salsa Bowls (With 2 Wooden Spoons) – Retail Value $40.00 / £32

This was a slightly easier option for me as again the item I would have chosen wasn’t available to UK subscribers – COOLA® Mineral Face SPF 30 Matte / TULA Skincare Protect Daily Sunscreen.

I did like the look of the necklace set but decided it would just end up in a tangled mess unworn in my jewelerry box. There was a lot of hype aroudn the Fenty mascara but I have a million mascaras waiting to be used so I didn’t really need another one.

I thought aboutt he ab wheel for about 30 seconds before deciding on grabbing the throwback option of these Rae Dunn bowls. Do I like Salsa? No. Do I like Guacamole? Also No. But do I love these bowls with mini spoons – ABSOLUTELY YES!

Category 4 – Lasting Smiles Soy Candle – Sea Salt And Citrus – Retail Value $45.00 / £36

I already have the poolside bag from this option as I got it in my FabFitFun Summer 2021 box and I love it. It’s waterproof so you can put all your phones, kindle etc in it while around the pool and not worry about them getting wet.

Contour sticks were never going to be on my want list and I’m fortunate enough to not need acne patches or cleanser.

And between the last 2 options I thought the candle sounded more like something I could make use of. I can’t smell it at all but I’m hoping perhaps when it’s lit it may throw more of a scent out.

Category 5 – SOAR Desk Mat – Retail Value $29.99 / £24

This option is only customisable by Annual subscribers. Seasonals will just get a random item chosen to suit your preferences (make sure you check in and update these regulary!)

I debated getting the activity books but thought I could prob pick some up pretty cheaply elsewhere, I have loads of Ahava products from other subscription boxes too.

I decided I should replace my desk mat as Holly and Oscar have drawn all over it and its pretty worn from all the time I spend using my desk!

Category 6 – Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick In Velvet – Retail Value $20.00 / £16

Again this option is only customisable by Annual subscribers. I like the option on this category to either have a single higher priced product or several lower priced products.

I almost went for the Shampoo and Conditioner but once I decided to have the ones from Option 1 I dropped these from my basket. Again I have the palm print wrap from this one, it is huge and I love it.

I did also like the watch but I wear a Garmin so again wouldn’t actually use it, so I went for the Anastasia Beverly Hills lipstick. It’s a bit darker than I expected but it’s still a nice colour.

So that is my whole FabFitFun Summer box – no extras and no add ons – it was tough but I think I got a great selection of products!

The Free Gift – Kayo Body Scrubber – Retail Value $15 / £12

I almost forgot about this until I was editing my unboxing video! I also went and found what it was a freebie for. They did a challenge on Tiktok and said if they hit a certain number of likes they would put freebies in the first so many boxes.

I really like the feel of it so I can’t wait to give it a try!

Is FabFitFun worth the money?

If you went for all the most expensive things available for the FabFitFun Summer box (including the brush with the $10 fee) you could have a box worth $633.95 and all the lowest value options would be a total of $169.95. Although I would say some of the retail values do seem a little bit inflated.

I am always really happy with my box and I love that it is so much more than just make up and skincare products. There are so many choices for all tastes and preferences.
