My birthday started off with being woken up with a very excited 4 year old bouncing on my head shouting in my face that there were presents to be opened and ‘something hanging on the wall’ which In my head was hoping it better be a banner and not Oscar.. thankfully it was just Happy Birthday bunting!
My beautiful birthday cupcakes were of course from the lovely Lucy over at Bally Bakes – Honestly her cakes are so good if you are local to Worcester do check her out!
First we needed to drop the little ones off to Nanny and Aunty Kellys Houses and then off to meet our friends Ryan and Amanda – Looking forward to our drink in Birmingham!
Costa Coffee
Quick pit stop at Costa Coffee in Brindley Place to grab my FREE birthday cake – I went for Lemon Drizzle cake and a pot of tea and Gaz grabbed a coffee.
Jurys Inn Birmingham
We checked into our hotel – Jurys Inn Broad Street – Our room was lovely we had 2 double beds (guess which one we slept in?)
The hotel was clean and the staff were lovely, it’s also in a really great place if you plan on a night out on Broad Street or Brindley Place as it is located just opposite the entrance to the Brindley Place bars.
TGI Fridays
We took advantage of the Free birthday cocktails offer – I had the Pina Colada and Rose Blush Slush. The Pina Colada was very yellow and was a bit more pineapple than I’ve had before with them, the Rose Slush just tasted like slightly flavoured water, a disappointment as I love these from other places!
I also had the staff sing Happy Birthday to me, a must have for any birthday girl!
Alchemist Birmingham
We stopped off on the way back to the hotel for a quick drink in the Alchemist. They have THE Fanciest cocktails you will ever have, apart from Gaz who went for a pint.
Check out my Tiktok below – I had a Magic colour changing one – amazing!
All Bar One
One last drink before going back to the hotel in All Bar One – It was SO BUSY! It was only around 3pm and yet there wasn’t even the slightest chance of getting somewhere to sit.
I also managed to not take any photos in here, I think it was just too busy and very hot!
We then dropped back into the hotel to change into our out out clothes
Jumpsuit and bag from Stitch Fix, shoes from New Look and Make up from Charlotte Tilbury
Coyote Ugly
This was the first of 2 visits into the Coyote Ugly bar – At 5pm it was pretty quiet and very few people in there but when we came back around 9pm it was packed, the girls were dancing on the bar and they even dropped in can’t fight the moonlight and it went wild.
I had Malibu and coke in here, twice and neither time could I taste any Malibu! It wasn’t too expensive though around £8 for a single and mixer and a bottle of beer.
The Brasshouse
The rugby was on in The Brasshouse so it was pretty busy with sports fans. I had a Malibu and coke in here and it was MUCH better which made me realise it wasn’t my taste it was obviously just either not good quality, or watered down Malibu in the other bar.
We didn’t stop long in here there was no music as the TVs were on so we moved on pretty quickly but it was a nice enough pub.
Las Iguanas
Las Iguanas actually run a 2-for-1 cocktail offer all day every day – Cocktail are around £11-13 and you can get 2 (of the same cocktails) for the price of 1 which made them really good value – they were also the best Pina Coladas I had to drink in Birmingham!
We also tucked into some tapas and nachos (well chips for me!) it was super busy but they were turning tables round really quickly and were pretty well organised.
Cosy Club
Again it was super busy in here, we managed to grab a table off a couple who told us they were leaving.
The last time we visited this location it was a smokehouse restaurant so not sure when it changed over, it’s pretty big and is upstairs but there is a lift for access.
Pitcher and Piano
Firstly they don’t serve Malibu in here. I thought this was a pretty basic spirit and haven’t ever found anywhere that didn’t have it before?!
It was super busy in here and the DJ was absolutely LOVING his job dancing all over the place.
There is a downstairs section here that looks over the river, we didn’t realise until we were getting ready to leave and had to use the toilets downstairs but we will remember that for next time!
Popworld
We ended our night over in Popworld (I couldn’t not go here to be honest!) They only had the downstairs open meaning there was no seating areas at all.
One thing we discovered this weekend is we are too old to be standing all night and we really needed to sit down so it was time to head to bed.
The morning after…
After the best nights sleep in a very long time (thanks to not having Oscar who loves to wake up 2-3 times most nights!) We got up for our breakfast at the hotel.
It was all self serve and they had a good selection of hot food, along with loads of fruit yoghurts, pastries, cereal and of course toast!
You could also grab unlimited hot drink or fruit juices.
Where to drink in Birmingham
We had a really great night and you definitely won’t be short of places to drink in Birmingham!
There are loads of road works going on around Five Ways and Broad Street at the moment which made getting a taxi a little bit tricky so do plan ahead if you want to get one.
Brindley Place is much easier to get dropped off too and they have plenty of places to eat and drink.
