Today Isabel Trail ticked off a multitude of challenges for me (Alphabeteer, Position Bingo, Namely and Old Macdonald) but it is also my 20th different location, I am now an official parkrun tourist!
Isabel Trail parkrun
The course is an out and back route on a tarmac path along the Isabel Trail. The start and finish is at the end closest to Doxey Road.

I met these 3 lovely ladies last night at the hotel and they adopted me for the day, thank you Elaine, Rachel and Marie from Boro Runners, Middlesbrough.
Parking and Facilities
Parking is free and available in the Rugby club car park just a short walk from the start, it did get pretty busy so probably best to arrive with a bit of time to spare.

The perimeter of the rugby pitch made a great warm up lap too, approx 1 mile (see route we took below)
There is also a play park round the back of the Rugby club which would be great if you have mini spectators joining you.
First timers briefing
Chris ran the first timers briefing – it was busy with tourists keen to tick off the ‘i’ for their alphabets. Not much information to give out other than enjoy it!
The Run Director for this week is Neil we couldn’t hear a word from where we were at the back but you can check out all the milestones at the bottom of my post!
Isabel Trail parkrun route
As the course description suggests, this is an easy out and back course. It is all along a track and mostly under tree cover.
After not running for 3 weeks since my half marathon, I wasn’t overly confident on how I was going to do. But this was the perfect course to get back into it.
We were very fortunate with the weather for early October and the autumn sun really shone for us! What started out as a slightly nippy run finished in this absolutely beautiful sunshine.
It’s a beautiful run and I will definitely come back for a new PB when I’m not stopping to take photos every few minutes haha!

Post run tea and cake
Unfortunately no cake here – boo! But the Rugby club do offer bacon or sausage baps for £3.50 and breakfast wraps for £5 from 9am.
They also have a selection of hot and cold drinks and this pretty nice seating area.
