After a bit of a rough week I decided to head north to tick off another parkrun and try and catch up on some blogging in peace!
Premier Inn Stafford (Spitfire side) was the closest to the parkrun so this looked like a good option.

Location

Address: 1 Spitfire Close, Stafford, Staffordshire, ST16 1GX
What 3 Words: ///bike.unit.prices

Room

I booked a double room and I think I was allocated a family room as I did have an extra bed. Which was great as I could spread out rather than having to properly unpack for one night.

My main reason for choosing a Premier Inn is you know exactly what you are going to get.

Although I was worried I would end up with a shower like we did at the Travelodge so I was relieved to see a bath!

Food at Premier Inn Stafford

This location is one of the ones that has turned the restaurant into it’s own Premier Inn branded eatery rather than being a Brewers Fayre (or Beefeater on some other sites)

The menu is still pretty similar to what it was previously just much smaller. View the menu in closer detail on Premier Inns Website

I did choose to have the meal deal for £26.99, this includes a 2 course dinner and drink plus the buffet breakfast.

Dinner

The food was actually really good, I wasn’t sure what to expect so was pleasantly surprised.

I ordered 8oz Sirloin steak (+£1.99 surcharge), a glass of house wine and I opted for dessert rather than a starter. For dessert I chose pancakes and ice cream (without the berries).

Breakfast

Buffets breakfasts are just the best aren’t they? Especially for fussy people like me!

With a choice of Bacon, Sausage, Beans, Hash Browns, Tomato, Mushroom, Black Pudding on the hot plates and Croissants, Pain Au Chocolat, Muffins, Pancakes, Crumpets and of course fruit and yogurts in the continental.

parkrun

This Premier Inn is a great location for those who want to run the Isabel Trail parkrun which is just 7 minutes drive away.

It is around 2.2 miles if you fancy running there and back, but I was a bit tight on time to get back for breakfast if I did.

Starbucks

Opposite the Premier Inn is a Starbucks. I can’t say I’ve ever visited one before and the coffee menu hurt my head so I just opted for flat whites. And a Halloween pumpkin gingerbread cookie, because it is October after all!

I made use of the free wifi to get loads of blog posts written without being interrupted every few minutes by various children.

It was a great people watching spot and I heard all sorts of weird and wonderful conversations, but most importantly I cleared some space in my brain by finally writing some long overdue blogs.
